Event Management Group (EMG) is acquiring a majority stake in the Breda-based event venue STRND, thereby launching its newest venue: EMG Venue The Dock. With the establishment of EMG Brabant BV, this move marks EMG’s strategic expansion in the Brabant region. It represents the first steps taken by the company, which originated in Limburg, outside the province.
Pooling the expertise of specialists
EMG Venue The Dock is the result of a collaboration between EMG Brabant, STRND and Purple Catering & Events. By bringing together entrepreneurship and expertise in the fields of events, catering and group activities, a unique combination has been created that guarantees a high-quality experience and professional event management.
A venue with character
The venue, situated in a former Renault garage just a stone’s throw from Breda city centre, exudes an industrial atmosphere with a touch of history. EMG Venue The Dock offers four distinctive, flexibly configurable spaces suitable for a wide range of gatherings: from meetings and corporate events to weddings and dinners. Events with a capacity of up to 2,000 guests are also possible.
Growth and ambitions
With the addition of Venue The Dock, Event Management Group is expanding its portfolio to nine venues. The Breda venue marks the start of further expansion in Brabant: additional opportunities are currently being explored in Eindhoven and ’s-Hertogenbosch.
About Event Management Group
Event Management Group has been specialising in the development, management and regeneration of unique event venues for over ten years. Their portfolio includes, for example, Rebelle in Maastricht, Stadbroeker Mill in Sittard and De Grote Hegge Manor Farm in Thorn. All venues are characterised by their distinctive charm and versatility. EMG offers bespoke solutions for both private and corporate events, with a focus on the guest experience and meticulous organisation from start to finish.
About the parties involved
EMG Brabant was founded by Wouter Lindenberg, Danny Keppels and Tom de Lepper. Danny and Tom have been working at Event Management Group for many years. Wouter Lindenberg brings with him many years’ expertise in the field of project and event management.
STRND was founded in 2013 by Marijn van Dijke, and over the course of twelve years has grown to become the premier venue for events in Breda. Marijn is also involved in other hospitality concepts and group activities such as BAAI Breda, Bootje Varen Breda and Groepsuitjes Breda.
Purple Catering & Events is run by Bart van Dongen and operates in the Breda and Prinsenbeek area. The Van Dongen family has a long history in the catering industry and is renowned for its craftsmanship. With Purple Catering & Events, Bart is continuing this tradition and focuses on high-quality catering and bespoke events, with an emphasis on flavour, atmosphere and quality.
